Emperor's Birthday (national holiday in Japan). Note that this is the birthday of the former emperor (Showa-tenno), not the present one.
12/25 ƒNƒŠƒXƒ}ƒX
Christmas. While in the western world it may be the most important day in the year both in spiritual and practical senses, it doesn't really mean anything in Japan, besides we seem to have established a new tradition of having parties. In space plasma physics community also, the significance of X'mas is far from being accepted, which I think can be well proven by the fact that sometimes we have space plasma conferences scheduled on this day.
12/26-1/7 ‹ã‘å“~‹G‹x‰É
