Relativistic particle acceleration in developing turbulence

The turbulence observed in space is often not steady but developing. In such a case wave-particle interactions show time dependent nature. A new mechanism of particle acceleration in developing relativistic plasma turbulence was discussed.

Parametric instabilities in a relativistic pair plasma

Long time evolution of the parametric instabilities of a large amplitude wave is a fundamental issue in space plasma physics. When charged particles have sufficiently large energy, the relativistic effects become important and the characteristics of the parametric instabilities are strongly modified from the non-relativistic case.
