Interaction between a charged particle and an MHD pulse (solitary wave) is studied both numerically and analytically. When the normalized particle energy is small the interaction is adiabatic (mirroring), while for higher energies the reflection probability becomes inversely proportional to one-fourth power of the normalized energy. |
